Here’s what’s happening with HEP in July
We have a busy schedule and will be needing your help to make these events a success. Please look over the list and sign up where you can lend a hand.
- Party in the Park: Tuesday, July 8, 5:30 – 8:00 pm: Party In the Park. A fun event hosted by the City of Hastings Parks & Recreation Dept. in Levee Park, Hastings. There is no admission, and there will be music, food vendors and numerous activities. Many area organizations will have booths there as well, including HEP. We could use a volunteer or two to set up our booth and greet visitors.
- Weeding the Pollinator Garden in Old Mill Park, Hastings: Wednesday, July 9, 6:00 – 8:00pm. This is a native prairie garden planted by Friends of the Mississippi River, Hastings High biology students and HEP. It’s located in a remnant of oak savanna along the Vermillion River. We need volunteers to maintain this natural feature.
- Weeding the Rain Garden at the LeDuc Historic Estate, Hastings: Wednesday, July 16, 6:00 – 8:00pm. This native garden was also a project with HEP and a number of other area organizations. HEP has maintained this garden for years, and volunteers are needed to keep it attractive.
