The City of Hastings named HEP the organization to advise the city on matters of climate and energy.
HEP is a recipient of a grant from the Great Plains Institute
HEP has been awarded a grant of $5,000 to improve the energy efficiency of homes in Hastings. They will be working with utility companies, local and state organizations on projects focused on the manufactured homes communities in our city. The goals of this project are:
- Providing residents information on funding available to them to make improvements to their homes to make them more energy efficient.
- Providing incentives to residents of the manufactured homes to get a free energy audit from Xcel Energy. The first 25 to sign up for an energy audit receive a $10 gift certificate. If they follow through with the audit, they are eligible for an additional $30.
- Once residents have had an energy audit, HEP and supporting agencies will assist them in obtaining the funding for home energy improvements.
